I’ve been busy
Doing Dragon shit with my Dragon friends. Ok, some big design related AND unrelated news. I have taken a huge step back from the grind to find full time work over the last two-ish months in the wake of a pretty gnarly spinal injury, and have summarily occupied that now massive void of time doing what I love most: being an autist about geopolitical high fantasy and dragon lore. We have a TikTok that went viral, a YouTube channel that is absolutely flopping (honestly same lmao) and a more grounded recollection of why I gravitated so hard toward design as a career in the first place.
Presenting ideas, chasing down thematic connections, and overanalyzing the implications of even the most seemingly insignificant changes on the story as a whole has been exactly what’s made me such a terminally annoying no-friend haver since my childhood. Only difference now is that there are actually people online who are, surprisingly, super into that sort of shit.
I got a job. I nice fully remote corporate gig as a UX/UI Design Lead at an EdTech/Multimedia company out here in Texas. I’m still keeping that formal announcement super informal until that first paycheck lands. Everyone loves to say “it’s not done until the ink is dry” but I’ve been screwed over well past that point too many times to say anything other than “it’s not done until it’s done” and I think that’s probably the most pragmatic you’ll ever see me lmao.
If you also like unsolicited and unnecessary over-analysis of a bunch of problematic blondes, I hope you enjoy this content that explores THAT “omg wtf” scene from House of the Dragon a few weeks back. If you’re not into that, I totally get it. It’s a curse lmao.
