Content? Oh she absolutely goes here.
The last two months has been a pretty intense & unreal exercise in how to perform the labor of an entire salaried product team as an individual contractor. I’m just now noticing the headache I have has actually spanned the last several days. Now that seems like the sort of thing health insurance would be super duper handy for.
All joking aside, for as emotionally draining and overwhelming juggling a big move, a bad job placement, an ugly breakup, and a hectic freelance schedule has been, I am finding myself really humbled and appreciative that so many people trust me with their brands & platforms because they love my work.
I’m currently in the middle of handling a massive UI overhaul for a CMS in the middle of a server merge, and I’m not missing the opportunity to up this org’s marketing design game. Check out a couple of the before & after’s I’m pushing into implementation this week! This will all be part of a bigger case study once our merge is wrapped & our content goes live, but for now I am really just reveling in how far I’ve come the last couple years.
I had gone through a few iterations of our cheer banner to get stakeholders & marketing on the same page with the general direction I wanted to head and, since this is in the works for a plugin based CMS, start laying the groundwork for content block templates to take as much of the heavy lifting out of our redesign as possible.
Still chasing that big W2 Product Gig in the Sky, but that can be next week’s concern. I need to find the lid to my ibuprofen and get back to Hotjar.
Check out the before and after below!
There were a ton of cool photo editing tricks for Figma I pulled out of the bag for this project that I’m planning to cover in another post, because they essentially cut my dependance on Photoshops (suck it, Adobe) and my students are always blown away when I demo my super weird photo editing workflow. I’m so tired lol.
Anyway, for good measure, here are a few of the early iterations that didn’t make the cut. Would you have given a different design the green light? Let me know!
