Anthem brief

I’m just trying to be the Don Beveridge of case study walkthroughs, you know what I’m sayin’?

As I approach year 6 of my UX/UI/Product/Whatever career I’ve been thinking a lot about what comes next. What do I love? What do I find myself gravitating toward for work? And how do I like to work like, in general? I’ve really doubled down on saying “yes” to the dress (public personal branding and an unhinged web presence lol) and I’m finding that I attract a LOT of kick ass people who all say the same thing; “ok so you’re totally hot, hilarious, a great writer, I can’t believe you’re single, and how are you not already the face of a brand? Are you on TikTok? What are you doing later? Is $500/hr enough?” And to that I say, “k.”

But in all seriousness, I am working on some preliminary “what does carving out a space for myself, irrespective of being employed?” projects with some incredibly smart and talented people that have helped me realize that it’s nothing short of an egregious waste of my time to try and scale down who I am to fit in a grey, incandescent cubicle. That’s all I can really say for now, but what I can tell you is that a big part of that project includes me getting back into writing (specifically for education, which I LOVE) and learning how to get really comfortable in front of the camera knowing that a lot of people are going to be paying attention.

I’m starting small with high-level recap walkthroughs of my case studies, which is already proving to be a huge hit as far as conversions go. This is V2 for this project. V1 was uploaded last week and I’ve already had 3 cold recruiter outreach calls which is the most I’ve seen in a hot minute. Plus also like, accessibility?! We love. Talk about a massive W. (Chat, is this rizz?)

Look at me. Being a perceivable entity. You love to see it.
